Photo sliding puzzle
A sliding puzzle cuts a picture into a grid of squares with one piece missing. The pieces are mixed up and you slide them back into place, one gap at a time, until the picture is whole again.
Try the puzzle below, made from a picture we drew. Then use your own photo: it is turned into a puzzle right here on your device.
Your photo stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded or saved.
How it works
- Tap a piece next to the gap to slide it in. Tap a piece further along the same row or column and the whole line slides together.
- On a computer, the arrow keys slide pieces too.
- Pieces are numbered and a small copy of the finished picture is shown, so you always know where things go.
- The shuffle is made of real moves, so every puzzle can be solved. Finish the first puzzle and a second one starts.
Questions
Is my photo uploaded when I use my own?
No. The puzzle is made in your browser. Your photo is not sent anywhere and nothing is saved.
Can I share my puzzle?
A puzzle made on this page stays on your device. To get a link you can share, make a game on the home page, where games are saved and public.
Is it free?
Yes. Making and playing games is free and there is no account to create. The site is paid for by advertising.
What photos make good puzzles?
Photos with lots of different colours and shapes. A plain sky or a white wall makes every piece look the same. The puzzle uses the square middle of your photo, so keep the main subject near the centre.
